Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Reunion and Affinity Groups, the Associate Director of Reunions and Affinity Chapter leads and/or supports all aspects of planning and production of Fordham’s reunion and Homecoming events, with extensive responsibility for registration, customer service, and student staffing.

 

This position also assumes leadership of alumni affinity chapter engagement initiatives in coordination with the Director.

 

This position requires evening and weekend assignments, and some travel.

 

Essential Functions        

  • Leads online, phone, mail, and onsite event registration and support for Jubilee, Block Party at Lincoln Center and Homecoming and is responsible for accuracy, updates, and regular reporting of all registration details.
  • Ensures that attendee-facing webpages and online registration systems are developed correctly for reunions, homecoming, and affinity events; conducts rigorous testing.
  • Shares feedback from registrants and student staff to improve both online and onsite experience; makes suggestions to improve registration systems and alumni experience after each event.
  • Manages pre-and post-event reporting of metrics tracking event progress vs. goals.
  • Creatively utilizes email marketing, texting, and social media platforms to enhance the visibility and reach of each event.
  • Leads Jubilee Welcome Center and Block Party at Lincoln Center registration for the duration of the events, supervising staff and student workers, including training for payment processing, alumni arrival, walk-in registrants, and appropriate communication with event and University staff.
  • Coordinates reunion and affinity chapter philanthropic efforts in partnership with annual giving colleagues.

Management Responsibilities  

Guides work of other employees who perform essentially the same work and/or student workers. Organizes, sets priorities, schedules and reviews work, but is generally not responsible for final decisions in hiring, performance management or compensation.

 

Additional Functions      

  • Directs affinity chapter activity and works with alumni volunteers to organize, market, and produce affinity chapter events and activities.
  • Creates and sustains vibrant relationships with alumni volunteers via alumni affinity chapters.

 

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience        

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in alumni relations and/or event management.

 

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills     

  • Proficiency in outreach via social media platforms.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency with Google applications, including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Forms.
  • Ability to learn proprietary systems, including Anthology, Cvent, and Fordham applications.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a commitment to quality.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and eager to take on responsibility and new initiatives.
  • Ability to manage evolving priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to actively problem-solve, troubleshoot, and work both independently and within a team.
  • Highly-skilled at collaborating and interacting effectively with diverse constituencies including alumni, donors, campus partners, and vendors.
  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

 

Minimum Starting Salary: $73,000

 

Maximum Starting Salary: $78,000

 

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
