The Michigan Medicine stewardship team collaborates with gift officers and other core services teams to ensure that our donors have high-quality interactions that foster long-term engagement with and investment in our organization. The assistant director of stewardship is responsible for creating and consistently delivering innovative stewardship touches that strategically engage donors, recognize their contributions, and inform them about the use of their gifts to Michigan Medicine. In addition, the assistant director works closely with colleagues to create, sustain, and further cultivate positive relationships with donors, university and Michigan Medicine stakeholders, and development team members.

Work Locations

The onsite location for this position is an office suite at the 777 Building. This provides free, on-site parking for staff, including covered parking.

The position requires on-site work 2 days per week at the Michigan Medicine Development offices. While work arrangements are flexible, you must currently, or be willing to, reside within a daily commutable distance of the office. This position may be eligible for flexible work opportunities at the discretion of the hiring department. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on the business needs of the hiring department, throughout the course of employment. This position works both onsite and remotely based on the business needs of the unit.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
