Operations Support Liaison - Level I & II

SUMMARY

Be a solution provider. Serve as a Liaison between Production, Supply Chain, Engineering and other Operation Support groups to respond, support and process material related concerns in an efficient and timely manner. Attend meetings and provide solutions. Proactively look for alternate resolutions if original plan cannot support production. Clearly communicate own actions to all parties involved to ensure cohesion and adherence to planned resolution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Assists in resolution of complex material problems and interfacing with Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning and Production groups.
  • Represent Operations Support at various production meetings.
  • Collaborates in root cause identification and implements preventive actions to ensure issues are not repeated.
  • Resolve material discrepancies and implement policies and department operating practices.
  • Responsible for analyzing, coordinating, and monitoring multiple projects from initiation through delivery to our manufacturing facilities.
  • Participates in the development of metrics and data analysis to identify trends and drive change.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain preferred. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience required.
  • Knowledge of MacPac, MMS, LMS, CAD Systems, MS Office Suite, JIRA and Tableau.
  • Requires ability to work in office environment, go aboard ships during construction, climb ladders, work throughout the yard as required.
  • Good communication skills, including ability to produce material consisting of qualitative Information, rationales, conclusions, and recommendations for presented material.
  • Be capable of design plan reading and interpretation and design information interpretation.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills. Must be computer literate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work occurs in both an outdoor shipyard environment and in an office setting.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing. Requires ability to commute physically to various areas of the shipyard including but not limited to shipboard activities. This position works at heights and requires the ability to walk on scaffolding and work at heights aboard vessels under construction or repair. Must be capable of ascending/descending stairs or ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, and transiting through manholes and other confined, congested spaces. Physical dexterity must allow for bending and reaching; this position may require the physical demands to carry, lift, push and pull. Position requires employees to carry, raise, lower, push or pull objects up to 25lbs. Must remain alert and comply with all safety requirements. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed occasionally to dust, fumes, and smoke. Must be able to spend up to 30% of time in an outdoor shipyard environment in all climates. The noise level is relatively low to moderate in office environments. The noise level in the outdoor shipyard production environment is moderate to noisy 70% of time which may include sirens, horns, chipping, and hammering. Lastly, this positions requires the ability to distinguish color.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Accountable for supporting the internal and external customer through the on-time support and resolution of material related discrepancies. Along with identifying root causes and driving for remediation.

PAY SCALE

Level I $61,800 - $87,200

LevelII $67,200 - $88,900

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
