At the Faculty of Chemistry, the University of Vienna seeks to appoint a

 

University Professor of Analytical Food Chemistry and Food Development

(full time, limited to a period of 5 years, to fill as soon as possible)

 

The position:

We are seeking an excellently qualified individual with internationally recognized research achievements in the field of modern food analysis (LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR, ESR). Research focuses should encompass the effects of food processing and storage on food quality, as well as valorization of by-products in the food industry. Experience in product development, patenting, entrepreneurship, and innovation transfer from research to application is highly desirable. The position involves teaching responsibilities at all levels of student education in chemistry, food chemistry, and nutritional sciences.

  • Doctoral degree/PhD
  • Outstanding research achievements, excellent publication and funding record, international reputation
  • Proven leadership qualities

  • Experience in designing and managing large research projects
  • Enthusiasm for excellent teaching and supervision at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral level
  • Willingness to take on organisational and administrative responsibilities within the Faculty and/or the University

The University of Vienna expects the successful candidate to acquire, within three years, proficiency in German sufficient for teaching in bachelor’s programmes and for participation in university committees.
