Olympic College is seeking to recruit a full-time classified Human Resource Consultant 1 (HRC1) within our recruitment division. Within HRS Recruitment, the purpose of the HRCI1 is to facilitate the use of the applicant tracking system (ATS), and assist with the hiring process, onboarding, and orientation. The HRCI1 will be responsible for HR functions aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness by also dealing with day-to-day HR processes. Answering phones, emails, and mail, and providing any expertise, guidance, and assistance in other HR areas such as Labor & Employee Relations, Benefits, and Payroll. The ability to work in a distracting and fast-paced environment with many competing priorities is a must for this role.
Essential Functions
- Assist with the recruitment and hiring process, including posting job advertisements, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating pre-employment checks.
- Assist with employment verifications.
- Support employee onboarding and orientation activities, ensuring new hires receive necessary paperwork, complete required training, and have a smooth transition into their roles.
- Handle the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to manage applicants, create job postings, and send communication.
- Assist with maintaining employee personnel files, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of documentation.
- Contribute to HR projects, such as policy and procedure updates, HR data analysis, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with HR team members to organize and coordinate HR events, meetings, and training sessions.
- Provide basic employee relations support by addressing general HR inquiries and escalating complex issues to the appropriate HR personnel.
- Perform front desk duties such as answering phones, collecting and tracking mail, and greeting anyone who comes to the front desk.
- Coordinate our HR ticketing system.
- Maintain accurate personnel files while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to hold a high level of confidentiality.
- Experience working and a Human Resource office.
- aPHR certification.
Additional Information
Terms of Employment
This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $49,116 - $66,012 All classified positions will start their salary at Step A, when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associate (WPEA) Union. Classified positions qualify for the following benefits:
