Overview

Our San Diego location seeks a Digital Engineer I/II to be part of our "wizardry" team! This role will design, develop and maintain digital systems, components and circuits for mission critical projects across the world. Bridge the gap between hardware and software by developing firmware that ensures electronic devices function efficiently and reliably. Apply the appropriate standards, tools and procedures throughout the development life cycle to support the creation and documentation of digital hardware applications.


Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design and implement digital systems, circuits and components.
  • Write, simulate, test and debug VHDL firmware.
  • Design and implement firmware for real-time applications, controlling devices such as digital synthesizers, A/Ds, D/As, temperature sensors, flash memories and potentiometers.
  • Support integrating digital systems with other hardware and software components. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Identify and resolve design flaws, performance, compatibility or reliability issues.
  • Create clear and concise detailed design documentation, including schematics, diagrams, interface descriptions and specifications.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
  • Keep up to date with the latest advancements in digital technology and industry standards.
  • Learn and apply new tools, techniques and software applications
  • Collaborate with team members, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or similar degree.
  • Knowledge of hardware interfaces like UART, I2C and SPI
  • Familiar with components such as ADC, DAC, Temperature sensor and digital potentiometers.
  • Experience with debugging tools such as DMM, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Problem solving and ability to analyze complex problems and find effective solutions
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export law. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:

  • Two years of related experience coding VHDL/Verilog using Xilinx Vavado or Intel Quartus development software.
  • Two years of digital hardware design and implementation.
  • Active security clearance.

Salary Range: $81,000 - $132,000 annually (San Diego).

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base bay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
