The College of Engineering, Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan invites applicants for a part-time LEO Intermittent Lecturer position to co-teach ENTR 490.316 - Perot Jain TechLab HealthTech during the Winter 2025 term.

Responsibilities*

The Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) offers courses that exemplify experiential learning and foster an entrepreneurial mindset, accessible to all University of Michigan students.

The selected individual will co-teach ENTR 490.316: Perot Jain TechLab (PJTL) HealthTech during Winter 2025. This 3-credit course represents the first semester in a two-part, 6-credit sequence that immerses students in real-world entrepreneurship through collaboration with high-growth startups in the healthcare technology sector.

About Perot Jain TechLab HealthTech
PJTL HealthTech offers students hands-on entrepreneurial experience by pairing them with cutting-edge startups in healthcare and medical devices, specifically those at the post-Series A funding stage. Students from diverse academic backgrounds - Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, and Data Analytics - tackle industry-defined challenges via technical projects, gaining mentorship and insights into the fast-evolving HealthTech industry. The course cultivates a talent pipeline to support this sector's growth, leveraging U-M's strong connections in healthcare, precision medicine, and medical devices at regional and global levels.

Throughout this course, students will:

PJTL HealthTech equips students with practical skills and industry knowledge, preparing them to excel in the growing Health Tech field.

During the 15-week Winter 2025 term, the instructor(s) will be responsible for developing course materials, delivering in-person lectures, holding weekly office hours, preparing and grading assessments, managing and evaluating class projects, and supporting student teams and individual projects. Additional duties include refining assignments, overseeing project milestones, and participating in monthly Faculty Community Meetings with the CFE.

Additional Information

This position is posted for the Winter 2025  term at 15% effort (6 hours per week).

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
