Position Overview

We are currently evolving and empowering our Store General Managers and field leaders at Petco, with data and diagnostics to better run their business. We have a role open for Manager, Business Analysis - Pet Care Centers. This role will play a critical part in designing how we deploy data and reporting to our store partners, how we train them to use these resources, and how we close gaps and opportunities using data.

You will manage a team of analysts, work cross-functionally to identify risks and opportunities, synthesize reporting and data, design effective delivery mechanisms, and prioritize business intelligence dependencies.

Position Responsibilities

In this role, you will get to:

  • Own the full toolset of diagnostic data which is consumed by store partners, store leaders, and field leaders.
  • Develop and manage the ongoing roadmap of store enterprise reporting, in partnership with field leadership to identify gaps and solutions.
  • Have real time interaction with the retail operations leadership team, to provide expert insights and stay aligned with changing business focus, trajectory, and initiatives.
  • Manage a team of analysts who support project plans, design and development efforts, and user acceptance testing for the data solutions provided to each audience.
  • Monitor and optimize time spent within the business analysis tools so that the field leaders utilize their time as effectively as possible.
  • Stay aware and engaged with high level strategic business goals, and Go To Market plans.
  • Be the key point of contact and decision maker for business stakeholders.
  • Continually monitor the competitive market place for latest developments in business intelligence, enterprise reporting, and data visualization tools.
  • Define complex underlying data schema, staging, and ETL processes with a high regard for current and future business requirements.
  • Maintain accountability for on-time delivery of work products, with a superior level of attention to specifications and end user experience.
  • Use balanced judgment and cross-functional awareness to prioritize competing requests within the IT support organization.
  • Work cross functionally with other teams from Store Operations, Regional Analytics, Finance, and Central Planning to delivery accurate and dependable high-quality assets.
  • Conduct competency evaluations with the data audience, to identify gaps in understanding.
  • Influence the focus and design of learning instruments in partnership with the training organization, and curate the repository of reference and instructional documentation serving the target audience.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Computer Science with a focus on business concepts.
  • At least five years related experience, and at least two years managing employees, coaching and leading, and developing a team.
  • An advanced level of interpersonal communications skills are necessary due to the nature and level of interaction with executive leadership and other departments
  • The ability to accurately compile and interpret complex and varied information. Must also be able to organize and prioritize duties in order to meet external and internal deadlines.
  • Advanced mathematical and statistical skills
  • Advanced analytical and conceptual skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel, Microstrategy, and/or other enterprise reporting systems
  • Strong ability to translate analysis into insights and findings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, working through uncertainty under various time constraints

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
