Job Summary
The Department of Cardiac Surgery is seeking an experienced Administrative Specialist to serve as the primary source of support for a faculty member holding multiple leadership positions within the department and broader organization. The selected candidate will also support 1-2 additional faculty members and assist with managing other departmental responsibilities, while demonstrating a high level of professionalism and poise in all interactions. This is a fantastic opportunity for growth and development within the field of healthcare administration, providing valuable experience in supporting leadership and collaborating on a wide range of administrative projects.

Work Schedule
As part of Michigan Medicine's Flexible First Workplace initiative, this position has the potential opportunity for a hybrid arrangement that includes onsite and remote work. Once training is complete, the hybrid position will work 4 days a week onsite at the Frankel Cardiovascular Center and 1 day remote. The schedule arrangement is based on the current needs of the department/faculty and may be subject to change.
Additionally, due to the nature of this support role, communication with faculty may occasionally be required outside of normal business hours.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
