The Equine Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Fellowship is predominantly a clinical position, with 75% of time spent in clinics. Along with the other members of the Equine Emergency and Critical Care Service, the incumbent will serve as the primary clinician after hours. On-call hours are, 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and Friday 4:30 p.m. to Monday 8:00 a.m. The position provides for 3 months in the first year allotted from November to February for off-clinic board preparation.
Along with the other members of the Service, the incumbent will be responsible for teaching 4th-year students on the ECC rotation, including leading rounds each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning.
The incumbent will have direct mentorship throughout the fellowship period, provided by a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care – Large Animal.
