General Statement of Duties:
The Financial Aid Assistant will be responsible for supporting the financial aid operations by providing client services and the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid. They will be processing student aid applications as a means of support to the Coordinators and Financial Aid Counselors.
Responsibilities:
- Advising students and families on financial aid application requirements, aid eligibility, cost of attendance, award eligibility, loan process requirements, unusual circumstances, satisfactory academic progress, etc.:
- Review, evaluate and process initial and subsequent FAFSA/ISIR i.e. (financial aid application) transactions and additional documentation to determine student eligibility (i.e., managing C-Flags, C-Codes, database matches, etc.), award eligibility, and identify/resolve conflicting information;
- Review, evaluate and manage the federal verification process for students required to complete the process;
- Support front-line staff with financial aid inquiries;
- Support Financial Aid Counselors with managing:
- Budgets and awards (this includes monitoring over awards) special circumstance requests and exercising professional judgment
- Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and appeals
- Federal and state aid processing, reconciliation, and reporting
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Services, Sociology, or closely related field;
- Six (6) months experience and/or training involving financial aid operations or loan processing; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Additional Information:
Salary: $48,329.00-$82,380.00
**** Actual Salary determined by education, experience, and any applicable grant limitations per the collective bargaining agreement. Applicants should be aware it is unlikely the salary will be at or near the top of the range.
