Full Job Description

We are seeking a full time Clinician to provide in-person mental health counseling for youth at our School Wellness Centers and at our Outpatient Clinics in Calaveras County.

Services include providing counseling at School Wellness Centers, serving youth through specialty mental health services authorized by Medi-Cal, and development and ongoing evaluation of mental health treatment plans.

Sierra Child and Family Services is a private non-profit agency with multiple locations in Northern California since 1989. We provide mental health services to youth in their communities, homes, schools, and our outpatient clinics. We also provide Treatment Foster Care and Adoption Services in four counties. At Sierra Child and Family Services our mission is to help families reunite, to stop cycles of abuse and to provide quality mental health services to assist families in successfully living together. Our staff shares a common goal: to help children with emotional challenges to function at their best in their communities, homes, and schools.

PREFERRED SKILLS

1. Serving youth through specialty mental health services authorized by Medi-Cal.

2. Serving youth with mild to severe mental health needs in group settings.

3. Experience working with students with social emotional learning needs.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be willing to complete a criminal record background check, including all clearances required by governing agencies; must meet Community Care Licensing standards for employment / facility management.

2. Must be physically and mentally fit to work with potentially violent children; must be willing to complete a health screening examination; must have unlimited capacity to employ physical emergency interventions.

3. Clinicians must possess a master’s degree.

4. Clinicians must also possess licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, or registration with the California BBS as an intern in one of the behavioral sciences.

5. Must possess a valid California driver's license, a driving record acceptable to the corporation's automobile insurance carrier, personal auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

6. Must obtain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.

7. Must possess the highest degree of professional communication skills.

8. Must possess basic knowledge of the English language.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Tier 1 Medi-Cal Clinician Hourly Rate: $32.00-$34.00. Tier 2 Medi-Cal Clinician Hourly Rate: $35.00-$38.00. Tier 3 Medi-Cal Clinician Hourly Rate: $39.00-$45.00

Compensation will be based on licensure status and related experience. Details will be outlined through the interview process.
