Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Executive Vice President, the Director of Educational Partnerships/Dual Credit provides leadership and coordination for the development, administration, and budget of the high school dual credit programs, including early college high school and high school consortium projects.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Provide administrative oversight of the Carl Perkins high school consortium, including submitting grant applications, completing annual performance reports, maintaining budget, monitoring inventory held at regional high schools, etc. Work closely with NMPED and CCC Sponsored Projects department on compliance for Carl Perkins funding, as well as partner high schools building Programs of Study.
  • Promote the growth, development, marketing, and administration of the dual credit program, including the development and dissemination of guidelines for instructors, schools, students, and academic departments, making presentations at schools, initiating formal agreements with schools, recommending policy and procedural changes, overseeing orientation activities for students and instructors, coordinating with academic departments at the College, solving problems, and responding to constituencies in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with division chairs in the development and implementation of dual credit courses and programs, including general education and career technical education through a variety of modalities including zoom tech, face- to-face, online, etc.
  • Ensure that the dual credit program is administered in accordance with the standards established by New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED), New Mexico Higher Education Department (NMHED), and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), including the tracking of dual credit student data and development, implementation, and evaluation of the dual credit/ECHS goals and objectives.
  • Supervise career coaches and work collaboratively with high school counselors to promote accurate placement of students based on educational and career goals, as well as career pathway initiatives. Assist dual credit students with both dual credit placement and transition from high school to college.
  • Provide training of college and high school personnel in regards to best practices in the area of dual credit instruction and advisement.
  • Work cooperatively with marketing staff to develop and implement effective recruitment and marketing strategies related to the dual credit program, including assistance with web content, preparation of publications, distribution of brochures and catalogs, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with Academic Advising to ensure students are on track for certificate or degree completion, and general transfer.
  • Develop personal rapport and close working relationships with all area high schools in order to work collaboratively to increase dual credit enrollment by assessing the needs of high school students and school districts, coordinating with academic departments and colleges to provide courses in response to those needs, implementing marketing and promotion strategies to ensure participation, providing admission and registration support services, and overseeing orientation and administrative support for students, high school counselors, and faculty.
  • Serve as the liaison between College personnel and area high school partners for all dual credit and early college high school communication.
  • Develop and implement an advising and communication plan that assists parents and students to better understand dual credit and make informed decisions relative to education and career goals and works with high schools to establish the value of providing dual credit through CCC.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the College's recruitment and retention goals by identifying opportunities in the marketplace for expansion and collaborating with academic departments, the offices of admissions, registration, computer services, and enrollment management to build a diverse and responsive dual credit program that encourages dual credit students to consider attending the College upon graduation.

 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing and pulling of up to 20 lbs.

 

SCHEDULE DETAILS:
Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding and acceptance of the mission of a comprehensive community college and an ability to interpret the aims and objectives of the College and its educational programs to the general public.

 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in education or related field is preferred.
  • Five years of high school or higher education experience is preferred, that includes program development, project management, and teaching or administrative responsibilities.
