Position Overview
The Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of Sociology for the Spring 2025 semester to teach courses in criminal justice and sociology. Specifically, we are looking for candidates with experience in law and/or sociological approaches to crime society.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- MA, PhD or terminal degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice. Candidates with a J.D. may apply if their areas of expertise are related to courses that need filled. Graduate students who have teaching experience may also apply to this position.
Additional requirements:- Two or more years’ demonstrated experience working or teaching as either a sociologist or criminologist. We will also consider those who work in law as an attorney.
- Experience in either criminal justice or sociology.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience in a related field or teaching courses in sociology, social work or criminal justice is preferred.
