Full job description

Chief Executive Officer

Horizon Healthcare Partners

East Providence, Rhode Island

The Moran Company is pleased to partner with Horizon Healthcare Partners to recruit the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer.

Located in East Providence, Rhode Island, Horizon Healthcare Partners (HHP) was formed in 2010 by four community mental health centers to share services and build capacity. The organization recruited and shared professional staff and identified gaps in services that required them to operate as a network. In 2013 – 2014, the members invested time and prior period income into modifying HHP to give it more contracting authority. Thanks to a Rhode Island Foundation matching grant, the local Board representatives from member agencies "re-engineered" HHP.

Today, HHP is a non-profit “atypical parent company” recognized by the state of Rhode Island that supports seven recovery-oriented, community-based organizations. HHP acts as a supporting corporation hub, an intermediary, a broker, and a networker on behalf of its member organizations. Horizon Healthcare Partners Member Agencies include: Child and Family Rhode Island, Community Care Alliance, CODAC Behavioral Healthcare, Newport Mental Health, Galilee Mission, Thrive Behavioral Health, and Tides Family Services. HHP is responsible for several large statewide contracts including providing Rhode Island’s 988 suicide call center, Rhode Island’s BH Link 23-hour crisis center, Rhode Island Outreach RIO demonstration project and other state contracts.

HHP holds the core belief that creative, recovery-oriented, community-based collaboration serves as an alternative to hospital-based care, reduces risk, reduces cost, and reduces the disabling effects of mental illness.

The Horizon Healthcare Partners Board of Directors seeks an innovative, experienced, and highly skilled CEO to work collaboratively with the Horizon Healthcare Partners Board of Directors, Horizon Healthcare Partners member organizations, and key community partners to lead and support all areas of the Horizon Healthcare Partners scope of services.

Qualified candidates will have an advanced degree with at least 5 years of senior management experience, and a track record of effectively leading and scaling a performance and outcomes-based organization and staff. As the administrative leader of Horizon Healthcare Partners, the CEO has the responsibility to effectively represent the organization and ensure all functions and services of the organization are focused on the mission of Horizon Healthcare Partners. Additionally, the successful candidate must possess a strong ability and desire to support the mission and staff of Horizon Healthcare Partners.

The Horizon Healthcare Partners CEO will receive a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience along with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance. Also included is a 401k retirement plan, vacation time, sick leave, and paid holidays. The salary range for this position will be $189,000 - $200,000.

The search for the CEO of Horizon Healthcare Partners is being conducted by The Moran Company. Preliminary screenings for the search are scheduled to begin October 14th and 15th, 2024. Questions about this position can be directed to Jon Rosell, Senior Search Consultant, The Moran Company at: jon(at)morancompany.com.
