The Dallas County Medical Society (DCMS) is the professional society representing physicians, residents, and medical students in Dallas County, Texas. DCMS has grown from 30 members to over 9,400 since its inception in 1876. DCMS is a leader at the local and state level and is the second-largest county medical society in the country. DCMS is a component of the Texas Medical Association (TMA).
The mission of DCMS is to promote public health and advocate for physicians and their relationships with patients, while upholding professionalism in the practice of medicine. Position Description
DCMS is seeking a Strategic Partnerships Manager to join its professional staff. This role is responsible for generating non-dues revenue for DCMS. These non-dues revenue sources include advertising and sponsorships for various DCMS products, including the Dallas Medical Journal, Physician Directory, e-Newsletter and website, Partner’s Program, and events. The position also manages royalty and passive non-dues revenue programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advertising, sponsorship development, and relationship building to support DCMS in expanding non-dues revenue streams.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategy:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to recruit new advertisers and sponsors, and retain existing ones through effective prospecting and relationship management.
- Collaborate with Events, Fundraising, and Marketing teams to align advertiser and sponsor goals with DCMS offerings, creating mutually beneficial value propositions.
- Develop effective stewardship and retention strategies for all non-dues revenue program stakeholders.
- Identify and propose strategic initiatives to grow DCMS non-dues revenue opportunities.
- Craft tailored advertising, sponsorship and royalty-based packages that meet the needs of DCMS partners while supporting DCMS’s overall mission and goals.
Business Development:
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in the medical and broader community, including advertisers, partners, and members, to drive business development.
- Achieve a minimum of $400K in advertising revenue.
- Solicit sponsorships for DCMS events, ensuring alignment with sponsors’ goals and maximizing their visibility through DCMS’s platforms and events.
- Attend DCMS events to engage with current and prospective advertisers and sponsors, fostering long-term partnerships.
Account Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of advertisers, sponsors and other non-dues programs, managing contracts and renewals to ensure a consistent revenue stream.
- Serve as the primary account manager for all advertisers and sponsors, ensuring timely and professional communication.
- Oversee the fulfillment of marketing assets for advertisers and sponsors, including managing production schedules, coordinating assets, tracking campaign performance, and delivering results to stakeholders.
- Manage the DCMS online store and career center.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, with a proven track record of achieving non-dues revenue goals.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed revenue targets in similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of advertising and sponsorship sales strategies, including digital, print, and event-based advertising.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various partners and stakeholders.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with experience managing multiple accounts, contracts, and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM software and other sales tools to manage leads, track performance, and generate reports.
- Experience in the healthcare or nonprofit sector is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to attend DCMS events and engage with current and prospective advertisers and sponsors.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Position Structure and Benefits
- This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Monday-Friday work schedule with some evening and weekend hours from time-to-time. Ability to work remotely two days a week after the initial training/orientation period.
- Starting annual salary range is $60,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience. Potential for year-end bonus based on outcomes and company financial performance.
