Essential Job Functions:
- Execute directives from the Board of Directors to develop and advance the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic plan.
- Ensure that the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic plan are clearly communicated, actively pursued, and successfully achieved to meet the Board of Directors' expectations.
- Safeguard that Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids Articles of Incorporation and by-laws are thoroughly understood and effectively implemented.
- Provide executive leadership and direction for Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids as the chief employee, executive agent, and public representative of the corporation.

Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Must be certified as an Executive Director by Goodwill Industries International within the first two years of employment.
Experience:
- Ten years supervisory experience in the field of talent development, donated goods or business administration. The experience should include at least five years of executive management experience.
- Additional training and experience in human resources management, finance, continuous quality improvement, supply chain management, organizational development and/or business best practices preferred.
- Familiarity with not-for-profit administration, accreditation, and public policy preferred.
