Job Title: President/CEO - United Way of Morgan County

Overview: United Way of Morgan County is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as President/CEO. This individual will be responsible for driving the organization's mission to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. The President/CEO will provide strategic direction, engage stakeholders, cultivate partnerships, and oversee the execution of programs and initiatives to address critical needs in Morgan County.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with United Way of Morgan County’s mission and goals – including the current transition to a RFP-based grant process.
  • Provide visionary leadership to inspire staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Continuously assess community needs and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with board members and other key stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, government officials, nonprofits, volunteers, and community leaders.
  • Represent United Way in the community through public speaking engagements, presentations, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with local organizations to leverage resources and maximize impact.
  • Resource Development:
  • Ensure effective stewardship of funds and transparent financial reporting.
  • Lead fundraising efforts to achieve revenue targets through individual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, and special events.
  • Develop and implement strategies to diversify funding sources and increase donor engagement.
  • Program Management:
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives that address community needs in areas such as education, financial stability, health, and basic needs. Monitor program outcomes and impact to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Foster innovation and collaboration to drive continuous improvement.
  • Organizational Management:
  • Hire, train, and motivate staff and volunteers to promote a positive and inclusive work culture that maximizes organizational growth and effectiveness. Manage conflict as needed.
  • Manage the organization's budget, operations, and resources efficiently and responsibly while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as well as United Way Worldwide standards.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion while developing partnerships with the community at large.
  • Advocacy and Public Relations:
  • Serve as a spokesperson for United Way of Morgan County, advocating for policies and initiatives that advance the organization's mission and address systemic issues affecting the community.
  • Enhance the organization's visibility and brand reputation through strategic communications, media relations, marketing efforts and participation in local community and civic activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years demonstrated leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, including fundraising, strategic planning, grant writing and program management. Experience at director level with a local United Way franchise preferred with other extensive non-profit experience given consideration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.
  • Visionary thinking, with a track record of innovation, adaptability, and results-oriented leadership.
  • Financial acumen and experience developing and managing non-profit budgets and experience in interpreting the financial performance of the organization through an ability to read and understand complex financial statements and reports.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to foster a culture of belonging and respect.
  • Knowledge of community issues and challenges, with a passion for making a difference in people's lives.
  • Must be able to pass a background and credit check.
  • Position may require work outside of normal business hours to accommodate meetings, events, and plant shifts.

 

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience.

Retirement: 5% company contribution

Insurance: 100% individual; 70% family plan

Vehicle Provision: TBD
