Harney District Hospital is actively recruiting a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead, guide, and direct all activities of the Health District. Established in Burns, Oregon in 1920, we are the only critical access hospital that serves residents living in rural communities spread across the 10,000 square miles of beautiful Harney County. We also run a family care clinic and a specialty care clinic. About the CEO role at HDH
The CEO plans, organizes, and directs all activities of Harney County Health District and provides leadership to the hospital management team as well as the seven member Board of Directors. The successful candidate will possess a broad knowledge of all aspects of operating, maintaining, and growing a Critical Access Special District Hospital, a Rural Health Clinic, and a Specialty Care Clinic.
To be successful in this role, one must be able to engage staff at every level, motivate and inspire our employees and community to help achieve the District's mission and vision.
Required Education and Experience
Completion of a master's degree program from a University or College accredited by a body approved by the Department of Education in business or hospital administration, and at least three (3) years of current hospital administrative CEO experience or more than six (6) years in Rural, Critical Access hospital "C-Suite" experience.
- Additional consideration will be given for experience in Special District Hospitals.
Required Skills and Abilities
Broad knowledge of the theory, principles, practices, and techniques of hospital and public administration, including budgeting and financial planning, financial management, human resources, safety and quality control, information technology, materials, facilities and operations management, and other general operational support services.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and court decisions applicable to hospital, and public administration; organization, functions, legal requirements, operations, rules and policies of the Board of Directors; and, principles and practices of effective management and supervision
Ability to develop and present proposals and recommendations clearly, logically, and persuasively in public meetings; and represent the District effectively in negotiations and other dealings on a variety of difficult, complex, sensitive, and confidential issues.
The Harney District Hospital CEO salary range is $280,000 - $310,000, based on experience, and up to 200 hours of paid time off per year.
