What you need to know

Due to the nature of this position, the incumbent in this position will be required to report 100% to their primary TTI duty station.

The salary range for position is commensurate. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
Job Summary:
This is the entry level of professional work in an engineering or scientific discipline. Incumbents perform routine scientific or engineering work, evaluating, selecting and applying standardized scientific or engineering procedures and techniques to assignments with clear, specific objectives. Assignments require investigation of a limited number of variables and few complex features. This position requires traveling around Texas documenting infrastructure condition and collecting data. The work will mainly focus on assisting our sponsor TxDOT with the processing of data. Continuation in this position is contingent upon availability of funding derived from research program or specific projects.

Collecting and processing data. 30%

Required Education & Experience:
-
Ph.D.
-
No prior experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
1-year related work experience.
-
Degrees in Civil Engineering
-
Experience with laboratory testing work, nondestructive testing experience with ultrasonic phased array and GPR, and experience in field testing.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Familiar with word processing, email, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
-
Must prepare papers written in English.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Familiar with linear elastic and finite element modelling techniques.
-
Familiar with Excel, all Microsoft Office Suite.

Acceptable verbal and written skills in English and Korean
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
-
Must have a Class “C” vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. Duties may require driving a TTI Agency/State of Texas vehicle.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform common office functions.

Ability to frequently communicate with other individuals within the workplace.

Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
