Responsibilities*
Responsibilities could include:
- Provide routine instructions to patients regarding procedures, treatments, and follow-up care instructions as delegated by Licensed clinicians
- Participate in the pre-procedure time out process.
- Assist with and sometimes chaperone complex procedures such as flexible sigmoidoscopy, biopsy, cystoscopy, fluoroscopy, ultrasounds, rectal ultrasounds, thyroid aspirations, and esophageal dilations.
- Management of instrumentation for procedures.
- Assist with dressing changes for trauma burn and wound care patients.
- Administer medications/immunizations, injections as directed
- May complete general administrative duties as assigned including; Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Disability and Return to Work forms, Electronic Medical Record in-basket messages, etc.
- Complete other clinical and non-clinical duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an equivalent combination of patient care related education and patient care experience
- 0-1 years of patient care experience for an Assistant level
- 1-3 years of patient care experience for an Associate level
- Knowledge of basic Medical Terminology
- Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patient.
Desired Qualifications*
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or (RMA).
- Experience working within a large complex health care setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records system.
- Experience working in a surgical or procedural outpatient or inpatient setting.
Work Schedule
Full Time hours, 40 hours per week, weekday schedule will vary depending on location/clinic.
May be occasional weekends.
