Associate Director Sourcing and Procurement

Job Description

Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

This position will be a key member of the Acadia Sourcing & Procurement team, leading the development of sourcing strategies for all manufacturing and raw materials. Responsibilities include ensuring the right capabilities, guidance, resources, and accountabilities are in place and development and implementation of category management plans. This position leads the identification, assessment, selection, negotiation, execution of contracts and relationship with key vendors, and will contribute to the corporate sourcing & procurement processes, compliance reporting and financial tracking. It will also be responsible for vendor benchmarking and building vendor partnership.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop both immediate and long-term global sourcing strategies/plans for cGMP, non-cGMP material/equipment, 3PLs and chemical development teams
  • Monitor and improve vendor performance including implementing supplier KPIs
  • Proactively work with business stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and negotiation all key vendor contracts
  • Assess and benchmark existing industry vendors
  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate supply chain risks
  • Work closely with Sourcing team to align and improve current sourcing process
  • Collaborate with finance team on vendor cost budgeting, forecasting, and saving validation

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • 8+ years sourcing experience and category knowledge of commercial manufacturing/APIs & excipients/packing materials in a pharma/biotech firm to support the TD&O or R&D function. Specific vendor or industry experience will vary based on function supporting.
  • Experience working with international vendors
  • Deep understandings of pharma/biotech supply chain, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong vendor spend data analysis skill and financial reporting capabilities
  • Proficient system knowledge of S2P (Coupa), and ERP (NetSuite)
  • Familiarity with sourcing saving report methodology and associated tools such as Smartsheet
  • BS/BA or equivalent combination of relevant education

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

Salary Range
$140,000-$175,400 USD
